This Privacy Policy explains how Keel Software, Inc., a Delaware corporation (“Keel,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use usekeel.io, the Keel application, API, CLI, and related services (the “Service”).

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect the following categories of information:

- Name
- Email address
- Username or account identifier
- Billing-related contact information
- Support communications
B. Authentication and Connected Account Information
- Login and authentication data
- Wallet addresses
- Public account identifiers
- Exchange account identifiers
- Delegation or connection status

C. Strategy, Usage, and Activity Information
- Prompts, strategy descriptions, and AI inputs
- Strategy configurations, parameters, components, versions, and related metadata

We may use cookies, local storage, SDKs, pixels, and similar technologies to support authentication, security, analytics, preferences, and product functionality.
G. Payment Information
Payments may be processed by third-party payment processors. We may receive limited billing-related information, such as subscription status, payment state, invoice metadata, and customer identifiers, but we generally do not store full payment card details ourselves.
2. How We Use Information
We may use information for the following purposes:
- To provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Service
- To create and manage user accounts
- To authenticate users and secure the Service
- To process prompts, strategies, backtests, deployments, and related workflows
- To provide reports, logs, monitoring, and product features
- To send you emails about your account, security, billing, and any strategies you run live
- To send you product emails based on how you use Keel, such as a welcome email after you connect an AI assistant, or a note when a strategy you backtested looks ready to try live. You can turn these off at any time (see section 9).
- To process payments, subscriptions, and billing-related matters
- To detect, prevent, investigate, and address fraud, abuse, misuse, security issues, or technical problems
- To analyze usage and improve product performance, quality, and reliability
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms and policies
- To protect our rights, users, and the integrity of the Service
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We may share information with the following categories of recipients:
- Hosting, infrastructure, database, and cloud service providers
- Authentication, analytics, monitoring, and support providers
- Email delivery providers
- Payment processors and billing providers
- AI model, inference, or related technical service providers, where needed to provide product functionality
- Exchanges, wallet tools, or related third-party services, where needed to enable requested integrations or workflows
- Professional advisors, insurers, auditors, or legal counsel
- Law enforcement, regulators, courts, or other parties when required by law or when necessary to protect rights, safety, or the Service
- A buyer, successor, or acquirer in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, asset sale, or similar transaction
We may also disclose information with your direction or consent.
AI Assistants (Claude, ChatGPT, and Others)
You can connect Keel to an AI assistant through the Keel connector at mcp.usekeel.io. When you do:
- The assistant sends Keel only what the Keel tools it uses need, such as a strategy definition, a note, or a backtest request, together with your Keel sign-in. Keel does not receive your conversation or anything else from the assistant.
- Keel sends back the results of those tools. The assistant's provider handles them under its own privacy policy.
- Keel records each tool call (which tool, when, and whether it succeeded). What you create through the assistant is stored in your account, like anything you create in the Keel app.
- Keel may use the fact that you connected an assistant, and which Keel tools you used, to send you the product emails described in section 2. It never uses your conversation, which Keel does not receive.
- Keel does not use this information to train AI models.
- You can disconnect at any time by removing Keel from the assistant, or on the Agents page in Keel, where you can see and revoke connected assistants.
4. Data Retention
We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this Privacy Policy:
- Account information and what you create in Keel (strategies, backtests, notes, and share links): while your account is open. You can delete strategies and share links at any time.
- Records of account activity, including AI assistant tool calls: while your account is open.
- Records of live trading activity (signals, orders, fills, and positions) and billing records: as long as needed for record-keeping, resolving disputes, and legal obligations, which can continue after your account is closed.
- Server logs: up to 60 days.
- Backups: up to 30 days.
To delete your account, email support@usekeel.io. We delete or de-identify your information within 30 days of confirming your request, except information we must keep for the reasons above.
5. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information.
However, no method of transmission, storage, or security is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your own devices, accounts, wallets, credentials, delegated permissions, and access methods.
6. International Transfers
Your information may be processed and stored in jurisdictions other than your own. By using the Service, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries that may have different data protection rules than your jurisdiction.
7. Cookies and Analytics Choices
We may use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, functionality, analytics, and service improvement.
You can usually control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling some cookies may affect the operation of the Service.
8. Third-Party Services and Links
The Service may contain links to, or integrations with, third-party services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this Privacy Policy.
We are not responsible for the privacy, security, availability, or practices of third-party services.
9. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or restriction of certain personal information.
You may also have rights to object to certain processing or request portability of your data, where applicable.
To make a request, contact us at support@usekeel.io. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.
We may deny or limit requests where permitted by law.
Email choices: every product email has an unsubscribe link, and you can turn product emails off in Keel under Settings, Notifications (“Tips and check-ins” and “Product announcements”). We still send emails about your account, security, billing, and live strategies while you have an account.
10. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.
If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will become effective when posted, unless otherwise stated, and we will update the “Last Updated” date above.
Your continued use of the Service after an updated Privacy Policy is posted constitutes acceptance of the updated version.
