Questions about subscriptions, renewals, cancellations, refunds, and plan changes.

Keel is subscription software for building, testing, deploying, and monitoring user-directed trading strategies. This page explains how billing works in plain English. Use of Keel is also governed by our Terms and Privacy Policy.

How billing works

Keel is offered on a recurring subscription basis. Plans may be billed monthly or annually, depending on the option you choose at checkout.

  • All prices are shown in USD
  • Your subscription begins when your payment is successfully processed
  • Your plan includes access to the features and usage limits listed for that tier
  • Any trading-related fees, if applicable to your plan, are described separately before purchase

Renewals

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless canceled before renewal.

For example:

  • monthly plans renew each month
  • annual plans renew each year

When your subscription renews, your payment method on file will be charged the then-current price for your plan, unless otherwise stated.

If we change pricing for a recurring plan, we’ll provide notice before the new price takes effect for your next renewal.

Cancellations

You can cancel your subscription at any time.

When you cancel:

  • your subscription remains active until the end of your current billing period
  • you will not be charged again after that
  • you will continue to have access to paid features until the current term ends, unless otherwise stated

You can cancel through your account settings or by contacting support at support@usekeel.io.

Canceling your subscription does not undo charges already processed for the current billing period, except where required by law or where we choose to make an exception.

Refunds

Subscription fees are generally non-refundable once charged, including for partial billing periods or unused time.

However, if you believe you were charged in error, or you forgot to cancel before renewal, contact support@usekeel.io within 7 days of the charge and we’ll review the request in good faith.

Upgrades and downgrades

If you change plans, the timing of the change depends on the type of change:

Upgrades

If you upgrade to a higher-tier plan, the change may take effect immediately and you may be charged a prorated amount for the rest of the current billing period.

Downgrades

If you downgrade to a lower-tier plan, the change will usually take effect at the start of your next billing period unless otherwise stated at checkout or in your account settings.

Any feature limits, usage allowances, or fee schedules associated with the new plan will apply once the new plan becomes active.

Failed payments

If a renewal payment fails, we may retry the charge using the payment method on file.

If payment remains unsuccessful, your subscription may be paused, downgraded, or canceled until payment is resolved.

We may limit access to paid features while billing remains overdue.

Taxes

Prices may exclude taxes unless stated otherwise at checkout. Where required, applicable taxes will be calculated and shown during checkout.

Promotions and credits

From time to time, we may offer discounts, promotional pricing, credits, or free access periods. Unless otherwise stated:

  • promotions apply only for the period described
  • promotions do not guarantee future pricing
  • unused credits have no cash value
  • promotional offers may not be combined unless explicitly stated

Account responsibility

You are responsible for keeping your billing information up to date and for monitoring activity on your account.

Purchasing a subscription gives you access to Keel’s software and related features under the selected plan. It does not transfer ownership of the platform or underlying software.
